Before deciding which lawyers to contact, you should review all responses made on your case and examine each responding lawyer's Profile and Ratings.
When choosing a response you should consider:
Keep in mind that the lowest-priced lawyer is not necessarily the best. The lawyer may respond with various payment options, and you should consider which onesare most convenient for you:
This means that a lawyer will charge a set fee for the case, regardless of the outcome.
This means that a lawyer will charge you per hour to work on your case.
This means that a lawyer will collect a percentage of your winnings or settlement award and does not require you to pay any money either upfront or unless you win.
Each lawyer creates an extensive Profile to help you get a sense of who that lawyer is and how he or she may be a good match for you. You can use several aspects of a Profile to determine whether a given lawyer possesses the qualifications you need. For example, if you need assistance in a breach of contract action, make certain that the lawyer lists contracts in the Categories section. Then, see whether the lawyer lists any contract cases in the Specific Experience section. Any publications in contract law would also indicate that the lawyer has experience in this area.
You may also wish to consider how other clients rate the lawyer. Lawyers are rated from poor to excellent, and LegalMatch users can describe their experiences with each lawyer. Keep in mind, however, that past performance in not an indication of future success.
To review the Profile, click Profile on the Response Detail, Ratings, or Contact page. To review the Ratings, click Ratings on the Response Detail, Profile, or Contact page.
If you decide to contact the responding lawyer, click Contact on the Response Detail, Profile, or Rating page. The Contact page lists the contact information that the lawyer provided. You can then submit a personalized message with your contact information.
