In addition, in Virginia, the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) regulates moving companies. They regulate all moving companies with respect to all issues regarding the performance of their duties, such as rates and charges. The Virginia DMV requires that all of the rates for moving services and charges made by moving companies be on file with the DMV and subject to DMV approval.
