When the pandemic hit the United States, you would think that legal issues would stop, but they don't. On the contrary, there was a point where it was difficult for me to manage all the prospective clients. I am thankful that I have an account manager from LegalMatch who helped me with contacting the clients. She called those clients, leaving messages, sending texts, letting them know that I'd like to speak with them and evaluate the legal matter and possibly assist them. That was pretty big during the pandemic and allowed me to sustain my firm and make consistent income.
LegalMatch has given me the ability to operate my firm the way I'd like to and give me that independence to get out there and hunt for clients. I know that I'm just paying one flat fee, and I'm getting several different cases laid out for me to go ahead and try to sign on under my firm.
Melissa Ericsson, the LegalMatch account manager assigned to me, is very on top of ensuring that I was comfortable and that things were going well for me. I appreciate her periodic check-ins to ask if I had issues so she could fix them immediately. It feels good that LegalMatch went as far as hiring an excellent employee who assists the clients and me.
Thanks to the organized interface of LegalMatch, I can see the detailed client information before I decide to reach out to them. I have a daily source of leads, yet I don't have to take all of them as a client. I use the information to my advantage and bring two or three leads to sign up for my firm. Converting those clients is the most significant way I get the value out of my membership fee because even if I just get one client, it is enough to cover the cost of LegalMatch, and the rest would be my profit. Other lead generation services don't offer as much granular detail and effective lead conversion as LegalMatch does.
Of course, LegalMatch membership is not the only way to market and put yourself out there. We can utilize social media and word of mouth because they work as another good source of referrals. Most people now are doing their research online to look at you and vet you. I've got a lot of clients that checked out my LinkedIn profile.
Combining those client-getting strategies will bring results and grow your law firm. As you build your reputation as a lawyer, make sure to help people find you by being a more accessible member of a community or platform that gathers attorneys and clients. I have clients who were referred to me by my former clients in LegalMatch. For me, that's a big factor to continue using the service, plus it allows me to be flexible and independent, which I don't get to practice at traditional firms.
