I've been a lawyer for 20 years. I went out as a sole practitioner 13 years ago. In my fourth year, I went with LegalMatch, so I’ve been working with LegalMatch for 10 years now.
I joined LegalMatch to find leads on cases. The interface is responsive and easy to understand. In addition, the support people assigned to my account have always been very helpful and wonderful.
LegalMatch has introduced me to clients. It’s really that simple. It sounds simple but it's a huge thing. It introduced me to new clients over the years.
I’m a sole practitioner, so personally I don’t like to spend as much time on marketing. I’d rather just do my legal work. My subscription with LegalMatch keeps the marketing going for me. It pushes me to do marketing in a way. That’s why it helps me.
I think the way you make the most out of it is you call the people who post their issues and their circumstances. Call them as soon as you can after they post. I think that's the key.
LegalMatch filters out a lot of potentially crazy situations. There's a lot of crazy people that post things. You have to make a lot of calls. You have to kiss a lot of frogs to get your Prince or Princess. A lot of the postings are just not the situations that an attorney can help with.
Some people just have outlandish situations where they are not anything an attorney can help with. Even if those still slip through the cracks, it's just the law of averages at work. Yet I think that's one of its strengths compared to other systems. Crazy situations are filtered out.
Not every person who posts an issue has a real case. A lot of those who post may not have a good legal claim. It’s just not worth pursuing because litigation’s so expensive. But people respond to LegalMatch. A lot of people keep posting on the website and I think that’s a great thing.

My first big case was actually from LegalMatch. When I say big cases, I do contingency cases. I'm on the plaintiff's side. I don't get paid unless I win. But I did win. It took a couple of years, but it was all through a client that I was introduced to via my membership.
If you get 10 people who post, you don't get 10 cases off that. You probably have to make eight or nine calls to get the one. For me, it's enough. So even though not every posting is a case, the posting just keeps coming.
My experience with LegalMatch is good. One of my contacts is account manager Julie Reynolds. She’s been there the whole time. She’s the one who helps me renew my subscription every time it comes up. She helps put together a potential package and whatnot. I just think she is a huge asset for the company. She’s wonderful, just so competent and pleasant to talk to.
She’s been there for the whole nine or ten years I’ve been using LegalMatch services. So I'm very happy with my membership. I feel it's incredible. It's been a fast experience of 10 years with LegalMatch since I started out on my own in May 2007.
