I think that the most important thing as a LegalMatch subscriber is to be responsive to maximize your membership. Respond quickly because even though the cases are submitted online, people expect you to know and respond immediately. If you wait a few days, it feels like an eternity nowadays.
In the internet age, when people push the send button, they expect an immediate response. They want you to call them or email them right away so it's definitely good to be on top of the responses. Just responding to their profile doesn't do that much. An old-fashioned phone call is usually the best follow up.
I really like the LegalMatch interface and the template functionality where I can store pre-written templated responses. I don’t have to completely redo my responses to the clients or reinvent the wheel every time I get a new lead. I can save many different types of templates.
I definitely think the templates are good because it's torturous to write the same stuff about yourself every time. It's also not recommended to just have a short answer to the inquiries; that is why I like the templates because I can save more detailed responses and just do a little customization for each client.
I also like how the clients can have a lot of information about me from my profile. It will give them a sense of what I do and what I'm about before we even talk.
The LegalMatch Attorney mobile app has been very beneficial in maximizing my time. If I'm just sitting in court doing nothing or waiting for my case to get called, I’ll check for new leads on my smartphone. I can respond to it right then and there. I’m multitasking when it would otherwise be a dead time. People can contact me at any hour of the day or night through the site and it's nice to be able to respond right away and get new clients.
I have recommended LegalMatch to many of my colleagues. I’d definitely say that it's a more cost-effective form of advertising. LegalMatch tends to attract a better client base than the more wide-open forms of advertising. I believe that this is because the people who have access to a computer or a smartphone are somewhat computer savvy to get to you; that tends to correlate with intelligence and means. I’d say that LegalMatch usually has a better prospective client base than other forms of advertising.
I would definitely recommend LegalMatch to others. A lot of people have come to me for advice in starting their own legal practice. With the positive experience I have with LegalMatch, I always recommend it to other attorneys who are thinking about starting out on their own or looking for new ways of getting business.
People are often nervous about the need to have a long-term contract. However, I always tell them that LegalMatch works. It sometimes scares new attorneys who do the math and figure out how much the contract is going to cost for the life of it.
There are so many advertising companies who promise you the front page of Google for your website. There’s just so much of that marketing. For attorneys, it's hard to know who's a real company and who's just going to take your money and disappear. Thankfully, LegalMatch has always performed for me and I recommend it.
